The start of A House Full Of Thread...?

About a year and a half ago, I got a little ambitious and decided that it would be a great idea to buy a kilo of lavender to make some lavender bags (how much lavender can a kilo be?).

Turns out its quite a lot of lavender.

About 50 bags worth of lavender!

So, after making a load for my home and  for some Christmas presents, I still had a bunch left over. This, I decided, would be a great thing to sell on Etsy (as I've been wanting to sell on Etsy for a while now). I whipped up a load in Fig Tree and Co's Honeysweet collection and put them on!

Don't they look so sweet all tied up in raffia! Yum!

Then I made a few more in Regent Street by Sentimental Studios...

All the lavender has now gone (thank goodness!)
Eventually I hope to start selling some of my quilts and table runners too. Exciting times!

The link to my Etsy shop is in the side bar!*
Have a fab day 😊

*I'm afraid that due to import restrictions means that I can only post lavender bags to the UK, sorry.

To the farm!

So back in August I started (about 2 years late) my farmers wife quilt. For those of you that don't know about this project, the idea is to make a quilt using the blocks from Laurie Aaron Hird's book: The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt. The blocks finish up 6 inches square, so are pretty wee, but it's also quite addictive to make!

I was on a bit of a roll at one point, and whizzed through nearly 30 blocks pretty quickly, here are the first 25 I made, I love the Bonnie and Camille fabric...mmmm...

There are so many people out there who have made this quilt, it's so inspiring to see all the different interpretations of this quilt, so many fabrics and styles, and everyone's is just gorgeous!

My intention is to make the full queen sized quilt - that's 111 blocks - I might well be crazy! But I really wanted to set myself a challenge, and I just can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Have you made a Farmer's Wife Quilt, or are you still persevering with all that block construction? I would love to here from you!
